Nikkilä’s Heart, elementary school, 2020

School’s facade art work were completed in two phases 2017-2020. Colorful boards were used on the wall surfaces. Because the facades were multicolored I wanted to make the art work in black and white. The illustration flows through windows and covers the color fields, going around the entire building complex. I created the original illustrations by using the line rasters from the old wood engravings . The works were printed directly on the elements in the factory.
